Welcome to Manly ACT Four – The Forest.

Over the last 13 years I have been crafting the

larger part of northern Sydney for OMSI.

I’ve created a massive map and that in itself

has been challenging. Manly ACT Four – The

Forest, is a continuation of these aims.

What’s New?

So what’s new? Good question. Well, I have included a bunch of new routes from The

Forest, a now largely suburban area with a thin bushland veneer.

Previously the Forest routes were a bit of a minor part of the map full of incomplete

routes. Now we see that all but one of the 12 Forest routes included are included in

full. The only one which is curtailed is the 284 which doesn’t yet head out into the

horse paddocks of Duffy’s Forest.

Extensive areas of Frenchs Forest have been remodelled including the Northern

Beaches Hospital and associated Warringah Road Underpass. It also seemed time to

about time to add some new stuff to Warringah Mall too. Whilst there are some areas

of the Forestosphere that haven’t made it to fruition, we’ve got pretty close… What

was already there?

You’ll also be able to continue to drive 11 routes that operate out of the Willoughby

Depot located in the northern suburbs and servicing the area between Chatswood and

the City of Sydney. Services operate either via North Sydney or the Freeway. Some

services run every day and some are specifically Peak Hour Monday to Friday services.

This has been a labour of love which has aimed at turning a German bus simulator into

something more styled to Australian conditions. To aid in this process I have created

over 8000 custom objects and 1038 splines across 1500 tiles. Making these custom

objects has taken me a long time as I have tried to replicate the reality of the

environment around me. This has necessitated the taking of a whole heap of photos

which I’ve stitched together to make the object textures. This has also lead to the map

being styled as “heavy”. I make no apology for this. The aim of this project has been

the faithfully reproduce local conditions, not make generic objects for use by others or

create a German version of Australia.

INSTALLATION ------------------------------------------------------------ Everything in the "OMSI 2" folder should be dragged into your OMSI 2 installation folder. It contains all of the dependencies and files you requested. If you are asked to replace files, we'd advise you click yes to all. ------------------------------------------------------------ 4. A NOTE ON COPYRIGHT & PRESERVATION ------------------------------------------------------------ We get it, and to a point, we respect your copyright. We never claim these mods as our own; we share them because we love them. History has shown that when major hosting sites go down, hundreds of mods are lost forever. We aim to stop that from happening again. We don't believe mods should be locked behind ID-based login systems or specific sites that may not exist tomorrow. Like the vast majority of mod sites, we do not require logins and we do not hound users with ads. We are here for the community. We also feel that the installation process for these mods is overly time consuming and unnecessary in the current age.
